In 1946 President Harry S. Truman appointed George F. Zook to chair a 28-member Presidential Commission on Higher Education that was given the accuse of reexamining the the U.S. of A. organisation of higher teaching "in damage of its objectives, methods, together with facilities; together with inwards the lite of the social component division it has to play."
